MuseFrame Terms of Service
MuseFrame turns one photo into an artwork that still looks like you. These terms explain how credits work, how payment works, how to cancel, why we do not give refunds, who owns your photos and artworks, and what must not be created.
1. Accepting these terms
These terms of service ("terms") are the agreement between you and Lenscript (光子方程), an independent developer team ("we", "us"), for the MuseFrame web app (museframe.lenscript.cn/app), the MuseFrame Android app and the website museframe.lenscript.cn (together "MuseFrame" or "the service"). By creating an account, uploading a photo, buying credits or browsing the site you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
You must be at least 14 to use MuseFrame; if you are under 18, get a parent's or guardian's consent before buying anything.
If you downloaded MuseFrame from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; for the App Store version, that agreement prevails where it differs from these terms.
2. What MuseFrame is
MuseFrame is an AI photo-art app. Instead of writing prompts you pick a direction from 7 exhibitions and 30 styles, upload one photo, and about two minutes later receive an artwork that preserves your facial structure, expression, pose and other identifying features. Each style is a versioned specification and imitates no living artist or real brand.
Generation is an automated pipeline: your photo is re-encoded on your device with EXIF and GPS removed, uploaded, and passed through our server to OpenAI GPT Image 2 (model identifier gpt-image-2) to generate or edit the final image. Some designed styles use OpenAI GPT-5.4 mini (gpt-5.4-mini) to compile style instructions; it does not generate the final image. The model or provider may change for safety, availability or product reasons; when it does, we update these terms, the privacy policy and the Acceptable Use Policy. The result is algorithmic output and may differ from what you expected; see section 10. The web and Android apps share one account and one library; an iOS app is planned.
3. Accounts
MuseFrame supports two ways to sign in: an email verification code (no password), and signing in with a Google or Apple account inside the app. When you use a third-party account, all we receive from that provider is the account identifier and email address used to identify you — never your contacts or social graph. One email address is one account, and artworks, credits and subscriptions sync across devices. You must:
- use an email address that is yours and keep the mailbox and codes safe — the code is your credential, never pass it on;
- take responsibility for everything done under your account, including credits spent, and write to us immediately if someone else has used it;
- not create multiple accounts to farm free credits. We may merge or close duplicate accounts and reclaim the credits.
4. Free credits, credit packs and the Creator subscription
How credits work: 1 credit = 1 standard-quality artwork. Failed generations and generations blocked by the safety filter cost nothing. Signing up with an email gives you 3 complete artworks with no card required; artworks carry no brand watermark, but keep the legally required “AI-generated” label (see “How a photo is processed” in the privacy policy).
Credit packs (one-time purchase): a 3-credit Trial pack, then 10, 30 or 100 credits. Outside mainland China they are priced in US dollars (USD 1.99 / 5.99 / 12.99 / 34.99); mainland-China users pay in CNY (9.9 / 19.9 / 49 / 129). The two price lists are set independently, not converted. The Trial pack can be bought once per account. Pack credits never expire and cover every non-Premium style at standard quality.
Creator subscription (auto-renewing): monthly or yearly. Monthly: in the Android app, CNY 49 or USD 7.99 per month (billed by Google Play); in the web app, USD 7.99 per month. Yearly: in the web app, USD 59.99 per year (the equivalent of USD 5 a month); 360 credits are granted in one go at the start of the period and are valid for that year. Web subscriptions are priced in US dollars only (our payment processor, Waffo Pancake, does not bill subscriptions in CNY; CNY users can buy the 30-day pass described below instead). A subscription unlocks all Premium styles and high-definition output; the monthly plan grants 30 credits each billing period. Subscription credits must be used within the period; unused credits do not roll over. By subscribing you expressly authorise us, through Google Play or Waffo Pancake, to charge your payment method the subscription price shown at the time at the start of each billing period, renewing automatically every month or every year until you cancel; how to cancel and when it takes effect are in section 6. There is no free trial or introductory offer.
Creator 30-day pass (one-time purchase, no auto-renewal): web app only, priced in CNY only (CNY 39, WeChat Pay accepted). For 30 days after payment it unlocks all Premium styles and high-definition output and comes with 30 credits; when the pass expires, any of its unused credits expire with it. The pass is not a subscription: nothing is charged and nothing renews when it ends — buy another when you need one. You can hold a pass and credit packs at the same time; pack credits are not affected by the pass expiring.
When you have more than one kind of credit: the current period's subscription or pass credits are consumed first, then pack credits. Premium styles and HD output end with the subscription or pass; credit packs you bought separately are unaffected.
Manual top-ups arranged through our QQ group or by email follow the same rules. Prices may change; a change applies only to later purchases, never to packs or passes you already own, and a subscription price change is announced at least 14 days ahead and takes effect from the next billing period.
5. Payment methods and payment security
Web app: credit packs and the Creator subscription are collected by our payment processor Waffo Pancake, acting as Merchant of Record. After you pick a pack or the subscription in the app you are redirected to a checkout page hosted by Waffo Pancake, where you can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay; packs priced in CNY (9.9 / 19.9 / 49 / 129) and the Creator 30-day pass (CNY 39) can also be paid with WeChat Pay. Once payment succeeds, credits are added or the subscription or pass is switched on automatically. Your card data is handled solely by Waffo Pancake under PCI-DSS; it never passes through, and is never stored on, our servers. We receive only the order ID, product, amount, currency, the email address entered at checkout and the payment status. On your bank or card statement the charge may appear as Waffo Pancake.
Inside the Android app: credit packs and the Creator subscription are bought through Google Play Billing; payment and renewal are handled by Google Play under its rules, and your card and billing details are handled by Google Play, again never touching our servers. The iOS app is not released yet, so there is no App Store in-app purchase.
Manual top-ups: web users can still reach us through our QQ group or by email for a manual top-up, with the payment method set out in our reply; manual top-ups follow the same credit rules as web purchases and the cancellation and refund policy in section 6.
- Digital goods are delivered as soon as payment is confirmed (credits are added or the subscription is switched on). Nothing is shipped.
- The price is the final amount shown on the checkout page, in the app store, or in our reply, before you pay.
6. Cancellation and Refund Policy
MuseFrame does not give refunds. Credits and subscription access are digital goods and are delivered as soon as payment is confirmed (credits are added, or access is switched on); once delivered they are not refunded. Money you have already paid is not returned because you cancel, leave credits unused or change your mind. You can cancel a subscription at any time to stop any further charge. This section explains how to cancel, the rights the law gives you, and how a mistaken charge is put right.
Cancelling the Creator subscription: a web subscription can be cancelled at any time from the app at Profile → Manage subscription → Cancel subscription, or by writing to donaldkuke@gmail.com from your registered email address. A subscription bought inside the Android app is cancelled by turning off auto-renew in Google Play's subscription settings, at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Either way, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: the credits and Premium access already granted for this period remain until it ends, you are not charged again, and what you have already paid for this period is not returned.
Credit packs, the 30-day pass and manual top-ups: a credit pack and the Creator 30-day pass are one-time purchases; the credits are added, or the access switched on, as soon as payment is confirmed, so they count as delivered and are not refunded. Pack credits never expire and do not depend on your subscription status — after you cancel, the credits you bought separately remain usable. The pass does not auto-renew and nothing is charged when it ends; the 30 credits that come with it expire with the pass, and unused credits are neither cashed out nor refunded. The 360 credits granted at the start of a yearly subscription are valid for that year; cancelling the yearly plan does not remove credits already granted for the current year, and whatever is unused when the year ends expires. Manual top-ups arranged through our QQ group or by email follow the same rules.
Bought through Google Play: refunds for packs and subscriptions bought there are handled by Google Play under its own policy; ask Google Play directly. That process is Google Play's to decide — we cannot intervene in it, and we do not give refunds outside it.
Statutory rights: where the law of your place of residence gives you a right of withdrawal or refund that cannot be waived (for example the 14-day withdrawal right in the EU and the UK), nothing in this section limits it. To the extent the law allows, by paying you agree that we begin delivering the digital content immediately (adding credits or enabling the subscription) and acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is lost once delivery has begun.
Billing error correction: a duplicate charge, or an amount that does not match the price shown at checkout, is a billing error and falls outside the policy above — correcting a mistake is our obligation, not a refund. Write from your registered email address to donaldkuke@gmail.com with “MuseFrame billing error” in the subject, giving your account email, the order or transaction ID and what went wrong. We reply within 2 business days and correct a confirmed billing error within 5 business days: the incorrect charge is reversed, or the credits you should have received are added.
Billing disputes: if you believe a charge is wrong (wrong amount, a duplicate charge, or a charge you do not recognise — web payments may appear on your statement as Waffo Pancake), please write to donaldkuke@gmail.com first before opening a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. We reply within 2 business days; contacting us is usually faster than a chargeback at getting the problem solved.
7. Your photos and your artworks
Your photos remain yours. By uploading you warrant that you hold the rights needed, including the consent of any identifiable person in the photo (a parent or guardian consents for a minor). To carry out the generation you asked for, you grant us a limited licence for that purpose only: to receive, temporarily store, pass to the image-generation provider, generate and deliver the result. The licence ends when the photo is deleted under the privacy policy.
The artworks are yours to save, share, print and use commercially. We claim no ownership, and we never use your photos or artworks to train models, build facial-recognition databases or sell them. The website and marketing show only artworks whose owners gave separate written permission.
Style specifications, exhibition names and copy, the interface and the code are ours. Do not use artworks in a way that implies endorsement by MuseFrame or Lenscript.
8. Acceptable use
MuseFrame may be used only for lawful creation that harms no one. You must not upload photos of, or generate, the following; the MuseFrame Acceptable Use Policy sets out the complete categories, reporting and enforcement process:
- pornographic or sexualised content; any sexualised content involving minors — zero tolerance: the account is terminated immediately and the matter reported as the law requires;
- gore, violence, self-harm, or content glorifying terrorism or extremism;
- hate or harassment based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar;
- photos of other people without their consent, or deepfakes that impersonate or fabricate real people (including public figures) to mislead;
- content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights;
- anything else unlawful where you live.
You must also not: circumvent or probe the safety filters; call the service in bulk with scripts or automation; resell credits or top up on behalf of others; take the service apart to train or replicate models; or interfere with its normal operation.
9. Content safety, moderation and reporting
Safety constraints and review: the platform applies content and style constraints and relies on OpenAI model and API safety systems. Requests rejected for safety or policy reasons are not generated and cost no credits. Human review happens only as needed for a report, appeal or security incident, and staff do not otherwise browse user photos.
Reporting: to report violating content or abuse, email donaldkuke@gmail.com with “MuseFrame Report” in the subject and the project or artwork identifier. Reports involving minors or urgent safety risks are acted on immediately once confirmed; all other reports receive an initial reply within 2 business days.
Enforcement: depending on severity we warn, remove content, suspend generation or terminate the account, and report unlawful content to the authorities. Appeals: use the reporting channel below to identify the project or artwork and explain why you believe an action was wrong; we handle appeals under applicable law and platform procedures.
10. The nature of AI output
Results are produced by a model. Preserving your likeness is a hard constraint of every style, but it cannot be guaranteed on every run; very poor light, group photos and small faces fail more often — see the guide "Why AI portraits stop looking like you". Every result page lets you press to see the original and compare region by region, so judge for yourself.
An artwork is an artistic re-creation, not a factual record. Do not use artworks for identity documents or verification, or present them as real photographs in a way that misleads others. You are responsible for how you use them.
11. Intellectual property
The MuseFrame software, interface, icons, copy, website content and the "MuseFrame" name and marks are owned by Lenscript (光子方程) or used under licence and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Apart from the licence expressly granted in these terms, nothing transfers any intellectual property to you.
Your photos and the artworks generated from them remain yours. We claim no ownership over them and use them only as necessary to provide the service.
12. Disclaimer
MuseFrame is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet your particular needs. Generation time depends on the model provider's load and may take 1 to 5 minutes at peak; a provider outage can temporarily stop generation.
We work to fix defects and keep the service stable, but as a small independent team we cannot promise a specific service level or turnaround time.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special loss, loss of profit or loss of data arising from your use of, or inability to use, MuseFrame.
Our total liability to you for all claims, however arising, is limited to the amount you paid us for MuseFrame in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or, if you have paid nothing, to CNY 100.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
14. Termination
You may stop using the service and uninstall the app at any time; if you have an account you may delete it as described in the privacy policy.
If you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms (for example by circumventing paid features, abusing the service or uploading unlawful content) we may suspend or terminate your access, giving you reasonable notice where practical.
The sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law survive termination.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the product, the law or our commercial arrangements change. The current version is always published at https://museframe.lenscript.cn/en/terms/, with the version number and effective date at the top updated accordingly.
For changes that materially affect your rights or obligations (pricing structure, content licence) we give at least 14 days' notice on this page, in the app or by email to the address you gave us. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not agree, stop using the service before the effective date.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and excluding conflict-of-law rules).
Disputes arising from these terms should first be raised with us so that we can try to resolve them amicably; failing that, either party may bring the matter before the competent People's Court at the place where the operator of Lenscript (光子方程) is located.
If the law of your place of residence grants you consumer rights that cannot be waived, nothing in these terms reduces those rights.
